One of the hardest parts of conducting effective user research is how to fit it into an agile software development process. While we are still sweating over detailed test tasks the development team has already released the next beta version. And our painstakingly crafted test report lives a happy afterlife somewhere in the digital, cloud-based nirvana right after we send it out.
We believe that user research can only happen by getting the whole team together and help them to see the reality with their own eyes. We also believe it should be fun.
This talk will show some of our research principles, internal tools and simple hacks we are using to foster and enable a collaborative culture in our diverse development teams. We will show what we have tried, what has failed and what has worked well, by walking through a case study for a new feature that helps electronic musicians and producers to collaborate more effectively.
